On-U Sound In The Area

Label World Records discography

World Records was a collaboration between members of Fats Comet / Tackhead and John Loder of Southern Studios. The release list and order of items presented here is that of the World Records catalogue as conceived, i.e. allocated a World item release number. This means that the releases presented here didn't necessarily ever appear on World Records itself or even carry a World catalogue number!

Jump to:
1: Main Catalogue 2: Miscellaneous Items

In common with the other label discographies, tracks given a [Rhythm xxx] notation link to the corresponding rhythm in the Rhythm Directory but the Rhythm Directory only links back to it here if it doesn't appear in any of the non-label orientated discographies. If the item also appears in a non-label discography then the Rhythm Directory links to the track in its listing there preferentially.

~ Bonus track on USCD reissue only.
Recorded rapid-style after the 1986 Challenger space shuttle disaster - hence the title. The sleeve of the original World Records UK editions are mis-titled 'Major Malfuction' on the front cover but not the spine. The UKLP does not demarcate tracks and similarly the UKCD and USCD re-issue comprise only two tracks corresponding to the track listing for each side of the LP (plus one further for the USCD's bonus track). By unfortunate co-incidence the Euro 2003 reissues were scheduled just days after the Columbia space shuttle disaster. The Euro DLP reissue, limited to 999 copies, has a second disc that plays at 45rpm. The Euro CD reissue comes in a black and gold sleeve of similar design to the original. The USCD is mis-mastered and plays side B of the original album first.
